Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American actress, singer, and songwriter for many years. Her mother was her primary caregiver in the USA, where she faced many racial taunts that caused her to feel as a non-person. When she attended a 9th grade school audition where she received praises for her singing as she built confidence. The experience not only boosted her self-confidence but also changed her career ambition. In 1992 she graduated with her diploma from the New York's Julliard School. As she was turning 23 years old, she launched her career on Broadway with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Then, at 23 years old she made her film debut in You've received mail. The biggest accomplishment of her career occurred in the role of The Lady Of The Lake in Spamalot's original Broadway production. Not only did she win the Tony Award, but her performance was also well-received by the critics. In the following year, when she was Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy on ABC her role was given greater recognition. Known as a singer she has also released a single as well as an extended version of her play. In addition, she's an activist who works hard to protect LGBT rights.
